Nvidia shield question (resolution,)

we are on holiday and we bought our shield to watch TV however the TV I don't think can support the resolution it is set to and just gets no display

is there anyway to get it to boot in safe mode or equivalent so I can lower the output?

thanks. looks like am out of luck then as no access to a keyboard or controller

problem solved. did a bit of a frank Spencer and unscrewed TV from the wall and swapped out with bedroom TV.

if housekeeping comes they may wonder why there is a random telly lying on the floor
