Nvidia should do a buyback scheme for 2080ti owners

Why not, for loyal customers who spent £1250 on a card that's obsolete overnight, well kind of

Why is it obsolete? Did they put a timer in them that broke them overnight?

There will be people happy with their 2080Ti performance and are in no rush to upgrade yet.

You won't get much support for this, we all knew the 20 series cards were overpriced.... However I don't think anyone expected this big of a leap in performance and a huge price drop. AMD don't have anything out yet to compete so I don't see why they're gone so low.

Maybe they are worried about people switching to consoles when they are released soon.

If you are an enthusiast or you have a monitor that demands more than your current card can supply, then you would have been keeping an eye on the upcoming 30 series and won't have bought a 2080ti in the last six months. Other people, well, really the 30 series won't affect them at all. They will happily keep playing games for some years. So no, really, I can't see NVIDIA doing anything. Last one I bought was a 2070S, because I knew even the 2080ti wouldn't be enough, so the 2070S was really just stop-gap until the 3080/3090 came out. I mean ANY card you buy stands a chance that it will be outdated ( to some extent ) inside two years.

nvidia giving out details for flagship core sizing through leaks actually being the 3070 cores :)

Why just 2080 Ti? Thing about Ti folks that is that they seem to think they're special :D
Above comment is tongue in cheek btw in case someone gets triggered.

Feel bad for those buying the Ti recently but I don't think the early adopters did too badly out of it tbh.I know that's debatable but two years of unbeatable performance incl RT, with a decent distance between it and the next GPU down.

Same with the new gen. Anyone thinking about a 3090 should get one early on as will get the most value from that premium and likely to be at the top or very close for around 2 years.
