Hi there, looking to replace my failing (i think) GT 220 (keeps freezing in Win 7).

Anyway, it has 48 stream processors and decent power consumption.

I'm looking at the HD 6450 which has 160 stream processors.

Question is, is nV 48 = ati 160 stream processors?

(i'd like to maintain similar performance of the gt220 card you see).

thanks!!

Hey.
They should offer similar performance- GT220 might be slightly faster.

edit: 3 AMD SP= 1 Nvidia SP. Thats a rough guide. After that you need to consider clock speed and the amount and type of memory that both use.

You cannot compare AMD or Nvidia cards by their specifications really, due to different architecture. AMD cards of recent years have boasted higher SP, clock speeds and in a lot of cases Vram to their Nvidia equvilents. Best way to check would be to see benchmarks of the card you wish. That card should run C+C no bother.
