Nvidia Surround Display Error

I have a 4K monitor running on 2x GTX980 SLI setup. I have a spare 1080p monitor sitting around that I do not use so today I thought about trying the Nvidia Surround. I understand that it means dropping down the 4K monitor resolution to 1080p as well.

4K monitor connected over DP.
1080p monitor connected over HDMI.

I select the 'Span Displays with Surround' but when I click on 'Configure', it simply throws an error at me. I have used DDU to completely uninstall drivers and reinstall but no luck. I am using the latest Nvidia drivers. Any idea that what might have been causing this?

Use an older driver version to set it up then upgrade over the top. Using DDU is what caused it. Broken surround setup on new drivers is a known issue that may or may not be fixed in the next driver version (post Tomb Raider driver).

Can anyone recommend a working version of the Nvidia driver for the Surround. As of now I am having nightmares with it. Takes ages to disable/enable and sometimes doesn't do what is expected.
