NVIDIA Surround task bar problem in Win 11

Hello.

I have a strange problem with my task bar generated by Adobe Creative Cloud. After installing Adobe software on my Win 11 and having NVIDIA surround active (3 monitors x 1080p) my task bar is jumping to left monitor and no way of putting it back in the middle one. It always happens after installation of Adobe Creative Cloud - before that there is no problem and task bar is always in the middle monitor. I formatted c:/ and installed Win 11 several times and it does not matter if I installed Adobe on fresh Windows or after installing bunch of other programs / games - it always happens right after end of Adobe Creative Cloud installation before I even install Photoshop or Premiere.

Is this a case of switching the main display? As in Displays: make main display

Or something more nefarious going on?

This is how it looks when NVIDIA surround is OFF - I have 3 separate monitors and I choose nr 2 to be main monitor and the task bar is then at 2 and everything is OK

but when I activate NVIDIA surround to create one virtual monitor 5760 x 1080 it looks like this:

and for some reason monitor numbers are being reversed and task bar is jumping to monitor nr 3 insted of being in middle monitor nr 1

Moin, had experienced same problem. It seems that the display IDs in 'regular windows display settings' can be different from the IDs int the 'NVIDIA display settings'

What helped me:

1. In surround mode --> just note middle display ID of 'NVIDIA display settings' (in your case seems to be 1)
2. Switching off surround mode
3. In 'regular windows display settings' --> mark display, which is middle display in 'NVIDIA display settings' as primary display (in your case again 1)
4. Switch on surround mode

After step 3, the taskbar will be shown on your left display when not using surround. But after step 4, when switching surround on, it will be on center display ... at least in my case.

To get the taskbar to the center monitor open NVDIA Control Panel and menus at the top go to Surround displays>uncheck confine to single display. Simple fix a pain to find for a solution hope this helps cheers :)

Hi, I have the exact same issue.
I have tried everything mentioned previously in this thread, and i have been through the registry, but i have not been able to find anything helpful at all.
The really odd thing about it, it started when I installed Adobe CC, Lr and Ps...

Open up NVIDIA Control Panel. The menus at the top go to Desktop, Surround Displays and then unchecked confine Taskbar to Single Display. Simple fix but a pain to find :) I don't know what causes it to change but that's how we fix it cheers!!

I like having the taskbar confined to a single (preferably) the middle.
I have uninstalled all Adobe products and performed a fresh install of my graphics drivers, so far, this has resolved the issue. But will reinstalling Adobe stuff break it again?...

Why do you want to be in surround mode when on the desktop/not in a game anyway?

There is software that specifically manages multi screen weird configurations, display fusion is what I bought when I used surround and was too lazy to press the hotkey to turn off surround when not in a game. Now I still use it for managing my task bars and layouts etc as its just so much better than windows rubbish.
But anyway, poetically open source version available if you don't want to spend money, or just set up the hotkey to switch modes so you can use the windows controls and settings that are designed for single and multiple monitors, but not surround spanning.

Unless maybe you can use the power tool that enables much more advanced control over window panes or w/e it's called, splitting the desktop in half/quarters etc is the basic version, there is an advanced version from MS. Maybe that can split up your desktop so windows sees it better as separate areas.

My taskbar has started appearing on the right of a 3 monitor setup. When I click the windows start button, the start menu appears on the middle screen, where the taskbar should be. OP, if you found a solution, please share. Ta
