I dont think they would release it under the same number, it will get confusing for people who might want to buy the gaming GTX560 Ti instead of this lower performance one.

No, 560 Ti is a lower level of high end cards at the moment

Ti stands for Titanium, afaik.

TI was the higher end of the ranges, MX was the lower end.

It used to be MX > GT > TI back in the days of Geforce 2 - 4.
