Nvidia are to bundle their TWIMTBP game Far Cry 2 with their cards in a bid to boost sales.

Far Cry 2 will look good as a sticker in the box and getting this game together with your card is definitely something that will make some people to deflect to Nvidia just for the sake of the game.

The irony of this situation is that Far Cry 2 will use some DirectX 10.1 features and currently Nvidia doesn't have a single card that can cope with DirectX 10.1.

TWIMTBP Program :-

The Way It's Meant To Be Played (TWIMTBP) is a program that helps game developers to optimize and incorporate exclusive features in their games and applications exclusively for NVIDIA's video cards

Oh dear. :o

In all honesty is 10.1 really going to make much difference? I mean it'll probably be like the shader model 3/4 thing and DX10 thing all over again

It makes a big performance difference with ATI cards in Assassins Creed.

Well it gave a significant boost in performance in Assassins creed on ATI cards that supported 10.1, then NV cried a bit and 10.1 was patched out of the game, looosers.

Yeah and they got it taken out of Vantage as well didn't they? Surprised they haven't made them take it out of Far Cry 2 yet.

Apparently they can't have it removed. :D

It was never in Vantage, there was a vote wether to have it incorporated, but Nvidia voted against it, surprise, surprise. :p

If I want Far Cry 2 and was looking for a new card I'd just get say a 4870 and Far Cry 2 separately:p

Then again I dunno, I've had a 4870 so I'd probs get a GTX 260 216.

Pointless, surely the sort of person who buys £200 graphics cards is the sort of person who will also buy FC2 on launch day and thus already have a copy?

The only real advantage currently to 10.1 was "full" multisampling performance on the 38x0 cards and I'm not even sure that holds true any more on the 48x0 cards tho I'm sure someone has more info on that.

It gives a performance boost compared to DX10.

Loadsamoney, be careful, threads with no praise to CUDA or the Big Bang are trashing and trolling.

Seriously though, time I sell my X2 now for one of these...or maybe not.

Quoted for Truth!

Seems like you're a troll/fanboy if you're not all over NV. They make good cards, but I can't stand them as a company, it's not like we're going on like that troll gamerwillz *shudders*.

Suppose I'm just trolling though to some... :D

It just shows how brainwashed people are really, believing everything that a company says, I have always said this that Nvidia are good at their marketing but right now it's more tripe than it is truth to be frank.

This board was very much green last time and the drones were so happy, when this slightly changes everyone who disagrees with Nvidia is a troll, talking rubbish, gay etc etc

I lolled hard at this from Nvidia's 180.42 drivers.

Recommended for the best experience on Far Cry 2:

“Since we first began working on Far Cry 2 in early 2005, we have used GeForce GPU’s to develop the game and worked closely with NVIDIA’s excellent engineers. While Far Cry 2 represents an outstanding PC gaming experience for a wide range of systems, GeForce users can expect to enjoy the game quite literally ‘The Way It Was Meant To Be Played’.” - Louis-Pierre Pharand, Ubisoft, Far Cry 2 Producer

You sure. ;)
