NVIDIA To Release G92 ,C72 And C73 In November

Nope it's saying G92 is the enthusiast parts (ie GTXs) out in November. Still not convinced that's the case.

Jokester

Surely not it does seem a bit early but we should at least of heard more by now.

A years a long time in graphics cards though, and its a shame were only likely to see Bioshock by the time these come out. :D :D

Didn't the lead nvidia guy say in a interview they would aim for the high end part to come out once a year before the holiday season and the low end parts following in the spring

I can see nvidia wanting to get there new highend GPU cards out for close as possible to when Crysis gets released....
As nvidia know that there going be 1000s of people wanting to upgrade for this game...

i cant think of a reason to bring them out so soon because as i said
the GTS/GTX are selling fast.
unless they want to put the final nail in ATIs coffin ??

From a profit perspective, will they make any more money from a new card ? Would there be a higher profit margin from more powerfull (than 8800gtx/ultra) card ? The high end NV cards have no competotor so the only reason for a new card would be to play the next gen of games which a small number may do (like theb people on here) but the vast majority of PC owners wouldnt (£500 buys a new laptop and a Wii).
Unless ATI bring out something more powerfull (complete with free 2Kw PSU :p ) i doubt NV will bring out a completely new card for a while yet.

If the 9800GTX is around 370-400 quid I think I'll be picking one up, however if its around £500 I think I'll just get the 9800GTS if it comes out at the same time, no way in hell would I pay more than £430 for a graphics card, I am thinking to myself I am insane spending more than £350 on a graphics card

I believe I read somewhere that NVIDIA were very much in favour of pushing up the prices of high end cards towards the $1000 dollar mark. The top 9 series may be priced higher than the 8800s were on their release!

They aint having my money if that happens., I would rather upgrade to quad core, get a new mobo and a HD2900XT again for that and go crossfire.

Yeah, no way could I justify that amount of cash on a graphics card. I'm trying to find where I read that. Bear in mind, it was just opinion of some journalist, but with the 8800s still selling so well, it makes ya think.

If I find the source, I'll post a link.

I'll upgrade when my GTX can't pump out max settings with 4xAA, and at my resolution which is slightly less than 1280x1024 I'm hoping I won't have to upgrade for a while yet.

Doubt this new card will be out this year anyway.

No point getting a 9800 when it comes out anyway. Drivers will be shoddy, wait for beeter ones to come out then buy a 9800 whe prices have fallen and drivers are decent :)

Drivers were bad for 8800's as it involved a new card + a new OS with DX9L & DX10 support, they had to juggle all that, it has never been that bad before with all other releases, the 9000's should be fine.

Its got me thinking too, I am hoping if my 2900 still will be good enough on launch, I should be upgrading my monitor, mobo and CPU I would think, I'm happy with my 2900 now, really glad I switched infact, but I just hope the 2900 and 8800's will be good enough to justify not spending all the money on a 9800GTS/X.

yes as the card would have been developed for a while now and they would have to have planned that ATI could match up. And the card is made why not release sooner? also they would have to cover the development costs and they know people are waiting on the second / third gen DX10 before buying

Thats still shocking, theres no way i'd pay over £200-250 for one. Especially as the prices are so much lower in 6 months time. Why lose all that money when you only have to deal with turning some textures down a bit for a couple of months?
