It has a few interesting features, though. First, it has a screenshot function that connects with Imgur. Steam's F12 function is pretty good for almost any title, but there are some times that you don't want to register the game with Steam, so a second option is welcome. They also have an overlay to control your stream, rather than just an indicator icon.

They added the ability to choose the Twitch Ingest Server, which is the server that the broadcaster connects to and delivers your stream into Twitch's back-end. I haven't used ShadowPlay for a while, but you previously needed to use whatever GeForce Experience chose. If it's not the best connection (ex: across the continent) then you basically had to deal with it. OBS and OBS Studio have these features too of course. I'll be clear: NVIDIA is playing catch-up to open source software in that area.

The last feature to be mentioned might just be the most interesting, though. A while ago, we mentioned that NVIDIA wants to allow online co-op by a GameStream-like service. They now have it, and it's called GameStream Co-op. The viewer can watch, take over your input, or register as a second gamepad. It requires a GeForce GTX 650 (or 660M) or higher.

Good to see images now added and automatic uploading to imgur (great addition). I am really liking how GFE is evolving and perfect for live streaming, recording, playing a game and letting your friends take over via the internetz.

Great stuff :)

While I understand Twitch is a big thing, is streaming games really that popular for everyday folk?

Good to have option I guess, but I've never felt the need to do it, nor have any of my friends. If I want social gaming I'll just play some games with them, don't need the world to see it. Or is everyone trying to become the next big thing on the internet?

Streaming is pretty big in truth and I have done it a few times and quite surprised at the amount of viewers I got. I would happily watch someone play ED when I am at work and can't play but not at home truthfully.

Personally not my thing but I think it's an increasing selling point myself.

Nvidia are nailing it with GFE and a smart move identifying the popularity of broadcasting, only negative around GFE is the incoming enforcement of registering with Nvidia for all the GR drivers.

More unwanted rubbish that I will never install. Why do people feel the need to seek attention these days by showing everybody that they play a game?

I presume because of things like this

And it can be fun and a decent way to socialise for those lacking in face to face social skills/confidence.

The latter, is that an option for local co-op only games to be played...online?! Could put fibre to good use and be able to play some local only games which look pretty fun! :D

I've uninstalled it, get massive CPU spikes in games like BF3 causing tearing too. Strange problem. Going to try OBS instead as Twitch quality is a pile of **** unless you are a partner anyway so I am going to Youtube gaming. Had enough of Twitch now.

Lego games come to mind, still baffles me why they are never online coop - but this may be the answer!
