Nvidia Users Beware, Latest Drivers May Damage Your PC

SLI works fine make sure you do a clean install after using DDU.
I posted on the previous page about a weird problem I have with options missing from the control panel:

I can actually enable SLI though since all the options show up after install, but when I reboot sometimes they disappear as per the image above (I've done the whole DDU in safe mode thing). It's intermittent so I think it might be some kind of race condition on start up. I found lots of posts on the NVIDIA forums where people have the same issue but no solutions unfortunately! In my case I don't really do anything in there except enable SLI anyway though.

This is on W10 64 bit.

362.00 and beyond are completely unuseable for me right now. Constant restarts, driver crashes and really weird in game artifacting if it manages to stay stable at all. Having to use the stock drivers on the MSI install disk.

MSI GTX 980

Sounds odd. Have you tried some older ones?

Yahh, most stable seems to be 358.91 for the moment but even with those I'm occasionally getting no response fom my monitor on startup... still, better then the constant crashes and restarts I get with more recent ones.

Really really odd. Thought it was my ram at first but its not, then swapped the PSU out but it's not that either. Even resigned myself to a clean install of windows but thats not resolved it either.

Coudl very well be my card but I seriously doubt it as it's brand new and the same was happening with my 960.

I've had an issue and I'm not reading all 6 pages.

Was sitting down dual screening on Saturday and the screens went white, PC still on, sound lost, visuals lost and couldn't recover. Didn't get the Driver Crashed error upon reboot but I had to hard reboot.

This happened again last night, both screen working fine then in seconds both had white screened.

Never had it before, think it could be driver related? Temps on my 980Ti are fine.

On the latest WHQL drivers. Might try a roll back to see if the issues remains.

Got my machine back, it ended up having new motherboard, processor and gfx. It also managed to blow the power adapter but is working a treat at the moment. Driver set says I am now on 361.91. I am assuming that this is an older driver? I think I might just leave the drivers alone for now if updating the 970m means another drawn out RMA process.

yes that driver was released in feb I think,im on the same one as its working great for me and don't need to update as of yet as don't have tomb raider or any of the games that benefit from newer drivers

so this is why my PC isn't displaying video first time on start up since installing these drivers! have had to hold power button and do hard reset.

hope it's not fragged anything, will have to roll back drivers

So I have just purchased a card from the Green team as I have been in the Red Team for a while, I still have my R9 390X and I like it a lot but wanted to have a go with a green card .... are we now happy with the 364.51 drivers ???

Just wanted to ask before I install this tonight ... and yes ill be using DDU to clean out the Red team drivers first :)

I have had no issue at all with the 364.51 drivers. 24hrs of playing the division with two 980 Ti's working at pretty much 90%+ load on both with out a single issue, GTA 5 also over 24hrs of gaming with these drivers, again not a single issue.

No driver crashes, but I haven't seen one of those in a few years, system is on 24/7 and runs two screens. Main screen using HDMI via a DP adaptor, second screen HDMI.

On my system at least I can't see anything wrong with these drivers so far.

Personally I have had no issues with Nvidia drivers in a very long time. I have accumulated over 1200 hrs on GTA 5 since its release and I have used every Nvidia driver since then, each one installed over the top of each other, I have personally not had a single issue that was related to the graphic card drivers.
