Hi am wondering has anyone had the problem were when you have nvidia 500 series in clone mode that games flicker on the 2nd screen and if so does anyone no way round it

I used to use ati and i never had that problem am using windows 7 64 bit

Any advice be appreciated thanks

I thought this was going to be a thread about fermi cooking the inside of your pc when you hook 2 monitors up.

Not tried cloned myself.. don't want to lose my desktop shortcut arrangements sorry.

When something like this is happening. Its normally to do with overclocking and v-sync. Or maybe your refresh rates are set differently on each monitor.

I made sure that they both on same refresh one is a led full hd tv set through hdmi and my monitor is a full led monitor through dvi I already looked into if that was a problem

Also does anyone no if its possible to to run surround with 2 monitors instead of 3
And if so how as i have tried with no luck
Thanks again

Why would you want to run surround with 2 monitors?

Bezel in the middle would not work well....

To all.

When you put a second monitor onto a 4/5 series Nvidia it automatically goes under full load. Meaning, your adaptive performance stops working and there's nothing you can do about it as it's intentional.

Basically Nvidia cards can not drive two monitors whilst down clocked. So you're stuck with it.

My 460 doesnt?

According to EVGA OC Scanner it drops to have clock speed when idling, is that what you're referring to?

Got a monitor in HDMI and DVI-VGA

Yes, adaptive performance. If you connect two monitors it has to remain at 100% clock and a load put on to stop the screens from flickering.

Maybe it is different on the 460 then? I know for sure that it definitely applies to the 470, 480, 570 and 580.

That's fair enough, not something I'd heard before that's all. I really like that modern stuff will downclock when idle, makes a lot of sense. I wonder why they can't with 2 screens, hopefully this isn't an issue that future ones will have.
