nvme cloning

Is there a quick way to clone an M tab nvme ssd, without making an image. My mobo only has 1 slot and I don't think nvme cases are available for the single cut M Key.
I have a Samsung 950 I want to replace with a 500 GB version.

Ok but how does that work between 2 m.2 drives when l can't connect both at the same time?

Unless you have say two m.2 ports on your mobo or an adapter to plug it in via USB or other.

both need to be connected to do the clone.

Precisely, hence my question which includes that I only have 1 mobo port and an enclosure is not available. Hmm. Plus if I make an image how do I reboot having replaced the OS drive.

Ah I have found a solution - an nvme PCIE card, allowing me to have both ssd's in the pc at the same time.
