What is NXE?

Is the new dashboard overhaul from MS, it adds a whole new host of features for online and offline gaming.

How do I get it?

Simply turn you 360 on and connect to Live on the 19th of November, 10 AM GMT according to EternalMovement

Major Nelson showing you how to update

Is it optional?

No, if you connect to live it will update and install the new dashboard interface.

Do I need to make and show and Avatar?

Yes, you can select a pre-designed one or make your own, they are very customisable Avatars will be used throughout Xbox 360, from games like “Scene It? Box Office Smash” to picture sharing and your representation in Friends lists.

Deleting 0 gamerscore games?

You can delete games/arcade trails that you have played and not amassed any gamerpoints.

Will I be able to keep my Gamerpics and Themes?

Of course! MS have not give out specifics about how your Gamerpics and Themes will be used when the update launches, but rest assured that you will be able to keep them this fall.

How to install 360 games to the Hard drive

Installing a game to the hard drive, cuts down on the need to load the game from the HDD, this cuts out noise and wear and tear on the dvd mechanis and the dvd, most games will have faster loading times, YOU NEED THE DISC TO PLAY THE GAME so you cant buy or rent then take it back and play the game.

List of game install sizes

I love the NXE update, everything is quicker to use, much sleeker and gone are the cumbersome blades, the HDD install takes away the much hated dvd drive noise and adds faster loading times.

I'm looking forward to this now :D
Can't wait to see if there is much difference in loading - especially on Rock Band :D

If you install a game you play lots to the HD, but then remove it later, it doesn't remove the saved games does it ?

Basically using the HD as currently played games.

No, the game install will be in your console settings - memory - games, the option to delete the game from the hard drive is there and in the dash, game saves will stay on the had drive.

I actually think that the main dash is bulky and ugly, and there is far too much space filled up with advertisements, The guide though... it is awesome, being able to access everything in the middle of a game is great

Meh, there is always one ^^

I cant wait to try out this new interface and load a couple of games onto my HDD.

I know it is due tomorrow but according to Major Nelson everyone who signed up to the Preview Program will be getting the update now, rather than waiting until tomorrow. Lightens the loads slightly on the servers.

True, but i would still like to remove games with Gamerscore even if it removes the points from the overall score

Same here. Some games I've played got a couple of achievements but stop playing because it bores me. Other games GS I'd delete are games that no one ever plays over live preventing me from getting 1000 achievement points.
