Has anyone tried this product? I am very tempted to get one as my 360 is in a rather confined space and I want to do everything to ensure it doesn't overheat or gain any more wear than needed.

For those that haven't come accross it, it is a snap-on fan unit designed to compliment the single 360 fan to avoid heat issues. It draws power from the 360 supply and powers on/off with the console.

I am slightly concerned about the potential noise of adding 3 small fans though, aparently it can barely be noticed unless you are very close, but I'd like to know if anyone else had experience with this. Also, can anyone confirm the temperature drops that it is claimed to provide?

Cheers,

Defreats

P.S Do the fans pull air in or out? :)

I haven't tried one but I don't like the design for two reasons.

1) You end up with fans running behind fans. This is very inefficient and creates turbulence unless the fans are specifically matched, which in this case they aren't. This can cause problems with air flow and noise.

2) A fair proportion of 360 failures have been due to the power brick so adding extra load to this (even though it may be negligable) will result in more power being drawn and potentially more heat and stress on the power brick.

TBH they have released things like this for many products and they are simply cashing in on people trying to protect the product they bought.

Lol, push it out I would hope otherwise there would be a mini fan battle going on in your 360 :p

This has been done in here before, a test on Hard OCP seemed to suggest they work to a certain degree, I am still sceptical though, mainly due to the fact that fans against other fans (and probably mismatched at that) shouldnt work.
