NZXT CAM in game overlay with 21:9 resolution

I recently installed CAM and was experimenting with the in game overlay which is pretty cool - when it works. I'm using the Acer X34 freesync 3440x1440 monitor it is seems that where the game does not natively support this resolution and I've use a workaround like altering the launch properties in Steam or manually changing the .ini file, that the overlay does not appear. For example I couldn't get the overlay to appear when playing Wolfenstien the New Order or Bioshock.

Also Borderland 2 will not launch properly when CAM is running - the screen keeps freezing although you can hear the game running normally in the audio.

Anyone had similar experiences/know of any fixes for these issues?

I've given up in the cam overlay. It only works for games they've added so obscure/new titles just don't work. Msi afterburner osd is much better when I need one.

I've never quite figured the MSI afterburner overlay out either - sometimes when I've tried to put in on it doesn't show and other times it appears when I haven't tried. Would you mind listing the steps you do to get it going?
