Hey all,

As some of you may have seen, ive started a new project with an NZXT H440 case with 2x 290x's. The case comes with of the above fans as intakes and I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them?

From NZXTs website, it claims 45CFM of air flow at 21dB which, if true, is better than corsair AF120s. Will I have enough air flow to cool my 290s??

There are better fans out there. Noctua, BeQuiet and Zaward to name a few. The new Noctua Industrial fans shift about 110cfm and have a static pressure of 7mm/H20

Main problem is that they all go through a fan hub which means theyre at max speed 24/7. Looking at their 2000rpm ones does look like a good compromise...

Can't you run them from a motherboard/controller? They are PWM compatible so you can set your own thresholds/targets.

I could but theres a handy fan hub built in so may as well use it :D may be better to do it through the motherboard

NZXT H440. Theres a fan hub in the back of it where all of the stock fans and LEDs are plugged into, powered by a molex from the PSU

Ahh shame.

I would recommend using the motherboard with PWM fans. Asus have some software which allows you to control the fans on a custom temp vs rpm graph to to set static speeds.

Hmm, Ill have a think. Actually, what I really need to do is have the computer up and running and play for a day and see what temps are like... Just worried that Ill be disappointed/unable to play :D

Yes static pressure is more important for heatsinks and radiators where airflow is obstructed. Noctua still have good static pressure anyway since they are masters of cooling :p

Which is 1200rpm

You wouldn't buy 2000rpm fans then run them at 2000rpm for a personal computer unless you're deaf.
