NZXT G12 and VRM cooling. Is it required?

Per my other thread here https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/zotac-1080ti-mini-getting-too-loud.18882311/ I'm having quite the struggle to actively cool VRM's, in an effort to place an AIO on the GPU, due to the fans being quite loud.

I've come across a Jayz2cents vid here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7r_2rE1yro which seems to indicate that VRM temps are better with just the cooling from the 92MM fan. I'm reluctant to go ahead and try this without a second opinion, so, has anyone here used the G12 and NOT used VRM cooling other than the fan, and how did it work out for you?

Did you change the garbage stock case fans that came in your R6 to better intake case fans? What is air temp entering cooler fans? Key to cool and quiet system is good case airflow and good coolers .. it takes both.

Have yo considered removing stock GPU shroud and fans and replacing with a couple 90/120mm 25mm thick fans? Fans can easily be mounted using zip-ties. This mod makes a world of difference in GPU cooling with much lower noise levels too.

Vrms werent a problem with the Corsair version of the G12 for me but they did sit millimetres away from the case intake fan

The fans are now 6 x Corsair ML140 Pro units, I have 2 on the front rad, one at the front case floor as intakes, and 2 up top and 1 at rear as exhausts, intake fans @ double the RPM of the extract, for negative pressure, i.e. more air in than out, I think that's right... CPU and RAD are sitting at around 45 degrees under load, so confident that's ok, but the Ti under load is hovering around 83 degrees so fans are high and clock rates are capping. Even tried popping another 140mm under the GPU but it made literally no difference, so I think that means the card itself is the issue, hence wanting to get it over to an AIO via the G12.

I do have some ML120 fans sitting spare, you reckon that would make a difference?

Forgot to add, the air coming out of the case is barely warmer than hand hot, so confident airflow is not the issue.
