Hi all. Have just pre ordered the razer H440 case and am going to move my aging ud5 920 build into before doing a full upgrade when skylake arrives. Questions are.. If i got one of the kraken cpu watercoolers for now would it be possible to use it when i upgrade to new socket?
Never used any watercooling so dont know if you can just get adaptors or would they even release one?
What suggestions would people give for fan replacements to the front and rear? Not bothered what the fronts look like but maybe green for exaust? ;)
also what would people suggest for a fan controller seeing as there is no front bays?

I thought about getting this case myself. While the Razer theme does look amazing, the cooling factor is not so good in this case. I went for the Phanteks Evolv instead. Not only does it look cool, but the air flow is much better. The razer does look sweet though. It's your decision, but I would read a lot of review before jumping into any case.

Also to control fans you'll have to plug in your fans through the mobo. There is no 5.25 bay on the H440. The evolv has a 1 5.25 bay in the back. Read reviews and you'll see what I mean. I like it., but you might not.

Good luck

It seems that Intel is pretty set on using the same mounting hardware for their mainstream CPUs. If it doesn't work with skylake give nzxt support a buzz and they'll probably send you a bracket. But that is years away at the moment.

For fans, I don't recommend replacing fans as you'll see a few degrees temp drop at most when you can easily pour £40+ into the swap. If one insists I strongly recommend Arctic cooling F12s for less than £4 a pop.

Rear fan is 140mm and if you want a green one, choice will be limited. I use a Noctua P14r redux and tbh it was a waste of money.

For a fan controller I use my speedfan and have all the fans plugged into my mobo. Though I just set everything to 1000rpm and have left it.

Thanks for replies. Skylake by all accounts should be here this year 2nd half with unlocked chips early next. That's why I'm wanting to get what I can ready.

Skylake that early? I thought we were still waiting for Broadwell to be released and were years off skylake. I don't follow cpu news other than knowing their names.
