I'm recently just registered on the forums, but been visiting here quite recently for the last month or so because i'm a bit confused and needing a bit of information.

Firstly, i originally came here to purchase a new case for my system (the NXZT Phantom White). At the time there were 3 of these white cases in stock and i had added one to my shopping cart in the online store, as well as a few other parts, i hadn't quite decided on everything else i wanted however. The next day, these cases had sold out, and i've been visiting back often since then to see if these cases have come back in stock, and unfortunately they haven't.

So my first question is, does anybody have an idea as to when these cases will be in stock again?

I'm not to keen on the special edition case with the red stripe and red LED's. Mostly due to the fact that i purchased an iCute 1000watt PSU not so long ago which has blue LED's into it and i really don't want to mix up the colour themes.

My next question is in regards to the NZXT fans. I'm wanting the case as my current system is getting quite hot, i currently have a Coolermaster Elite mid tower case and it's quite packed and tight for space due to dual graphics card in crossfire, a whole bunch of hard drives in RAID plus a blu-ray drive and a DVD Drive. Now, i'm a bit of a perfectionist and i like things that match, and i'm wanting to max out the full cooling potential of this case, so additional cooling fans will be something i'm looking for too. However, i can not for the life of me find any of the NZXT Fans with the blue LED's pre-fitted.

I visied the NZXT forums, and there was a topic from back in December where they mentioned that they were working on these fans pre-fitted with the LEDs for sale, and said that they would be available very soon, but again for the life of me, i can not find these fans anywhere. Does anybody know if they exist, or can suggest an alternative. I don't mind using standard NZXT fans without the LED's, as they are for the most part white, something like a cold cathode tube would light them up pretty well.

Lastly (and sorry for going on) I've noticed some B-Grade stock on Phantom cases, however, they seem to be more expensive than the NEW cases...

B-Grade Phantom Case - £112.33 inc vat
New Phantom Case - £109.99 inc vat

That was a bit confusing, not sure if it's a mistake or not and also the colour of this B-Grade stock is not listed.

Any help is much appreciated, i've been waiting for almost 2 months to get my system in a new case and will be good to finally get it completed.

Hi, welcome to the forums.

i took delivery of a black phantom this morning (i've posted a few comments already today about it) and i am very happy with it so far. Coincidentally, i also exchanged a CM elite mid-tower for it:).

I have been very happy with it so far, finding that system temps have decreased by a few degrees.
i found that transfering my build to this case was very easy.
with regards to the fans, i have been impressed, so far, with the performance and the noise. The integrated fan controller is a very nice feature, allowing you to change the settings of the 4 fans already fitted, and add another 2.
I currently have them all on low and they are silent, and the 200mm fan on the top is very quiet even at top power.

I, just this minute, was looking on ebay for blue LED NZXT fans, as i can't find them anywhere either, and am looking to add a few more.

check out this thread i started earlier.

hope this helps:)

well from what i read at the NZXT forums, the default fans have mounting points on them for LED's and you can actually solder in your own LED's. Not something I could be bothered doing though, besides i don't own a soldering iron.

Been looking on ebay too, i can get the white phantom for £116.75 with no delivery charge, but i keep holding it off hoping they get them back in stock here. Would rather get everything i need here and have it all delivered at the same time.

i know what you mean. i ordered a mobo and case from another site because OCUK didn't sell the mobo. Mobo arrived on friday, but the Phantom didn't arrive 'til this morning. Really annoying.

Post a message in CS, if you want to know when they will be back, i'm sure someone will tell you. Staff don't see every post on the forums, but if you post in customer service, i'm sure they will reply quite soon:)

in my case, ther is room for another 5-6 fans other than the ones provided.
any fan will fit the 120mm spaces, but i think that NZXT fans are the only ones that will fit in the 200mm places. could be wrong though.
Ready to be corrected by someone else??:)

Well they finally got them in stock, but i think i'll be purchasing from a different site now :(

i can get

the white phantom case
Arctic Freezer 13
1 Meter NZXT LED Cable
additional 140mm NZXT Fan
£141.35 + free next day delivery via DPD

here it will cost me £145.73 just for the heatsink and phantom case with almost £10 delivery charge via DPD.

Such a shame i waited all this time to end up going elsewhere :(

now that everything has settled in, so to speak, i am very impressed with the case.
sitting here with all fans at top speed and i can barely hear them, as i've got tv on too.

enjoy.

btw, i wasn't impressed with the freezer 13 mate. i ended up rma'ing one and sticking with the freezer 7 tbh. even get better temps.

Well i don't use my system much for gaming or anything like that. I'm a web programmer and designer. My system is pretty decent, but i don't think i need an amazing heat sink.

Currently i have

Processor: AMD Phenom x4 9650
Board: GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4
Memory: 4GB (unsure of brand 2 x 2GB)
PSU: iCute 1000watt Modular
GPU: 2 x Power Color Radeon 4850 1GB (in crossfire)
Disk: 2 x 1TB RAID-0

Additional: standard AMD heatsink, avermedia PCI tv card , 1 X intake fan (2400rpm very loud) 1 coolermaster outtake fan (1200 RPM).

I mainly use the system for coding / programming, photoshop and 3d modelling applications and video production software such as Adobe After Effects. I occasionally play the odd game, for example dead space 2, mafia 2, games like that but not very often, and as it stands with my current system they run fine on the highest quality settings, the system especially the GPU's get quite hot though, usually hitting around 80c.

Managed to overclock my CPU to 3Ghz (factory is 2.30 or something) but dropped it back down due to heat in my case, plus CPU fan noise lol

Just looking to keep things cool, At the moment, my GPU is at 55c and my CPU is at 35c. System has been on for well over 24 hours and my temp sensor is showing 36.8c temp inside the case.

not very high but they can creep up a lot during the summer and when i'm working with video and so on.

don't worry, it's just your email adress in your profile so that members can email each other.
i was going to email you a link to another site with a good deal on a phantom and cooler, but looking again, it's not that much cheaper. case and freezer 13 for £125. not allowed to advertise other companies on forums;)

in terms of heatsinks, i use the freezer 7, and have a 965be oc'd at 4 ghz. the fan is also inaudible. there is no difference between 30%and 70% to my hearing:)
you see a lot more people with a freezer 7 than a freezer 13. Standard AMD heatsink, i found to be unbearable.

well i was undeicded about the freezer heatsinks. freezer 7 rev 2 was the cheapest, then the freezer 13, followed by the freezer extreme as the most expensive.

I just went with the middle one. would have thought it was a better performer being a higher and more expensive model.

also, you might have to change your RAM positions, as most aftermarket heatsinks slightly cover the RAM slots on AM3 boards, not sure about AM2. i was lucky, as my xms3 ram is low profile, so there is about 1mm between the heatsink and the first stick.
worst case, you'll just have to move the ram to slots 3+4.

just completed my purchase

To be honest i've never been keen on cases with the door on the front, i find the doors annoying, so i'm probably going to do quite a bit of modding to the case.

Also, i've got an old xbox 360 lying around since i bought the new model xbox, so i've got an urge to try and build the xbox in the case with the PC. Like how some people mod their broken xbox cases into, pc's, will the opposite, just put the xbox guts inside the pc case along with with actual pc components.

Will be fun to try and do anyway, would give me a bit of extra desk space too :)

Despite getting next day delivery on Wednesday i still have not received my parts.

Phoned the company i got them from yesterday, and they said they didn't have the freezer 13 in stock and it was being shipped that day (thurs) to be delivered today.

still didn't have a tracking number this morning so phoned them again and they said they didn't have the LED lights in stock and they can arrange for Saturday delivery.

Ordered it all under my company name too, told them not to bother and to just issue me with a refund. They then said they would throw in a few extras for me.

not sure what they are but i agreed, and told them if it wasn't delivered tomorrow i'd be wanting a full refund.

Weird thing is, before ordering i double checked everything was in stock, and every item i ordered was listed as having 10+ stock.

Oh well, hopefully these "extras" will be something decent

at least you'll get something back for them.:)

OCUK really is king when it comes to delivery.

re not liking cases with doors, i thought the same, but the door on this case is fairly small, and actually really suits it imo.
