Hi all,

I am in the process of picking out parts for my new upgrade. So far I have chosen:

New parts:
  • Gigabyte P67A-UD7 Intel P67 Chipset (Socket 1155)
  • i7-2600k 3.4GHz
  • Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator CPU Cooler
  • 2x G.Skill RipJawX 4GB (2x2GB) (undecided, see below)
  • Benq XL2410T 120Hz
  • NZXT Phantom Enthusiast

Current:
  • 750W ThermalTake ToughPower
  • 2x Raptors 150GB in RAID0
  • 2x 750GB 7200RPM WD
  • 1x 2TB 7200RPM WD
  • 2x ATI HD 6950's (flashed to 6970 fw)

I am just wondering do yous think I will have enough space with my motherboard and 2x 6950's?

Just wondering if anyone has this case and any pics would be great? :)

Thanks in advance

Easily mate :)

I have one of these and it's an absolutely fantastic case, best I have owned. Looks peng to boot :)

I would post pics, but I am hanging like the proverbial dog

I must be getting old Naaaarich boy. I think i understood maybe 40 percent of your response.

I should add 2 things so as you dont think this is a troll.

first i spent 10 years living and working in Naaaaarwich myself and loved every miute of it
second this is a trully 1st class choice of case. individual without being too in your face.

I currently have an NZXT, not sure which model but it's a big tower from 3 years ago and it's great. I just fancy an upgrade for my new rig :)

Thanks for the replies lads.

Tell you what, I'll upload some pics when I get in, took loads when I set up the system lol :).

G-Dubs, where abouts did you live in Norwich? I've moved to London for Uni for now, and miss prince of Wales road already :p

Just got my phantom from OCUK yesterday and you will not be dissapointed its amazing!!! Cable management is great and the looks of the case in general is 1st class

Also used to live in Norwich before moving to sheffield, lived on muriel road thats all i can tell you cant tell you the area lol was a while ago. My grandparents live across from the old Norfolk and Norwich Hospital which is now gone.

i personally wouldn't bother with an NZXT case.

spend your money on something with a bit more of a quality feel such as a lancool

I Worked at the old N&N for 10 years. Gone now sadly as many happy memories from there. First off I lived in the Nurses home on Upton road (even more happy memories for obvious reasons, so much pasty, so little time). After that I moved to a village on the Ipswich road called Newton Flotman. I get back to Naaarwich every now and again as still lots of friends down there. and have to say I also miss it immensely.

I was thinking of replacing some of the fans with LED ones. Which fans on the case are actually LED?

I have had an NZXT case for the last 3 years and I have been very happy with the build quality and the aesthetics. Think I'm going to stick with NZXT for this round too.

My grandparents worked there too my nan was a nurse and my grandad was a painter a decorater until they retired feels weird when i visit and the N&N isnt there no more. After leaving Norwich i went to Thetford before coming up here.

Where are the filter placents on the phantom case if any?

There's one for each intake fan, and another in the PSU mount, in case you mount it facing up.

Sorry about the lack of pics, Internet at my shoddy student accommodation is inferences  to the point where I'm using 3G on my iPhone to view OCUK :(

I lived in dussindale before moving to my Uni, but I'm pretty sure I have a good mate who lives or used to live on Muriel road :)

obviously, your call.

but in my experience, there are far far better sub £100 cases out there

What would you suggest? I think the NZXT has lots of great features and is pretty cheap for a full tower (albeit a plastic one). Next best thing I've seen for the price would be the Antec range?

This, apart from the Antec reference. The next step up from this is, in my opinion, is a Silverstone case like the RV02 or the FT02, both of which are more expensive, and have similar cooling.

Any other thoughts on cases as good as these for the price? I've heard that unfortunately Lian Li has dropped a bit in quality, which sucks as they have a good reputation :(

I don't mind dropping a few extra £ on a case. I think the Silverstone ones you mentioned there: RV02 and the FT02 are both a bit ugly :( Subjective and each to their own but something along the lines of the style of the NZXT would suit me :)

Well the NZXT is one of the most individual cases I've seen :) unless you want to lose quite a bit of cooling capability and a few features. If you don't care for these, then I'd get the bitfenix colossus, purely for the awesomesauce looks :)

i waited so long on rich's "get a lancool" idea. but ocuk never got anymore red ones in :'( got a cubitek tattoo fire instead. however the cubitek has a sick finish on the PC inside so im pretty pleased, could do with more fan holes though!

Still have the NZXT as #1, I reckon I have looked at all of the cases on the OC web shop and still prefer the Phantom.

I am looking at buying NZXT LXE Touch Screen External Fan Controller to go with the case :) I haven't decided on whether I should get the internal or external version. My case sits up beside me on my table so an internal would not be out of reach. Oh the decisions.. :)
