Not so much a project, as I decided due to not being able to sleep the other night I would get started and build this.
My sitting room was a mess, tv was bad, and it was a mix of red wine and fresh black coffee fueling my all nighter.

This was originally intended to be a rebuild some time back. The family PC an old Gigabyte P45 LGA 775/Q9550 system was being used by everyone and simply needed a new case and bling. But an accident on the motherboard killed that project, and with various RL issues that project got shelved and all the parts I had bought were delegated to spares in the loft.

Recent changes to my system also left me a couple of spare GPU's, and memory. Being unable to sleep the other night was all it took to get me motivated :D

Feels good to have put some parts from a failed project together finally, pleased with the end result, still work in progress though, needs a better CPU and more memory, also cable combs and work on the cabling aesthetics and maybe replacing the NZXT fans with a couple of Cooler Master models.

Components as follows.

Gigabyte Z97X Soc motherboard
Intel G3258 processor (looking to replace with an i7 4790K)
Patriot Viper 2x4gb 2400Mhz DDR3
Cooler Master Nepton 240M AIO cooler
Samsung 120gb 850 Evo for OS
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS
Samsung 500gb 850 Evo for games and storage
MSI Twin Frosr III HD-7950 x2 in crossfire
Cooler Master V1000 power supply
Cablemod cables (initially for my current PC, hence black not orange)
Phobya RBG lighting with a single 30cm RGB strip in roof
NZXT Source 340 case in white

Nice system. Do you not find the GPUs get HOT with that fan config?

Not so far, the system is extremely quiet, cards idle at 37 *c but I have not yet throttled the system with crossfire suitable games due to CPU limits.

The fan config with two push at the front was simply aesthetic, pull would have made the rad easier to keep clean, push pull will require the cable tidy panel to be removed.

So far it's been cooler and quieter than it was when I ran the 7950 in my main system.

As much as it's a budget case, I have to say I am tempted to make this my main system, as it can accommodate the main hardware I use anyway.

I will wait and see how it gets on over a few months though.

Really want to get a 4790K and 16gb of memory in this too!

Current issues with Windows update and Samsung Rapid Mode not enabling.

Edit, ran Heaven benchmark for a few passes before benchmarking at Ultra settings and during that roughly 30min session I hit 81 *c max, not sure if that is good or bad, or what to expect in a gaming session scenario with the likes of BF4, Crysis etc.
