*** NZXT SOURCE S340 MID-ATX CASE OWNERS THREAD ***

Sorry Matt. SSD was originally out another PC trialing Windows 10. It had been relocated to the NZXT for convenience but never got the OS installed.

The SSD is fine, my other PC's bios was reset bios. With my head in a tizzle after the motherboard loss I had forgotten to turn ACHI back on on that other system.

Forgive the cell phones. Was too much trouble to whip out the DSLR for the build.

Old Z68Pro-Gen3 board with i5 2500K that is being transplanted into the S340. I originally wanted to go mITX, but then I would have to buy a new motherboard, which means new CPU. Figured I'd scratch the itch just a bit and wait for Skylake to come out later this year and see if the jump from the 2500K will be worth it.

Was going to do a build thread...started off well with photos, but got carrier away and then just gave up on build pictures.

Old Setup:
Corsair 500R
i5 2500k @ 4.5Ghz
16Gb RAM
500GB Evo 840
780ti ACX SC

Added some Krakens to the build. Had to cut the 780ti RAM heatsink plate to get the Kraken pump to make contact. Next motherboard will definitely have red. I got Sp120s and Sp140s on order. Not running CAM software.

I've just migrated my gear into one of these from an Antec 300. I'm blown away by this case, it's so easy to build in and the results looks fantastic. What a bargain!

Well here is my new motherboard. Still undecided on CPU and ram, not really got the money spare at the moment.

@ElSenor - That is a sweet build! I love the fact your using the G10 in reg also, and making full use of the fan mounts for double water cooling, something the S340 was designed with in mind. Nice big pics too (although I need a 4k screen to appreciate in their full glory  )

Glad to hear you love it :D

@sastusbulbas It actually looks from the photos that the board is still in tact, however I guess powering on with the cooler master shorted the tracks at the rear :( Hopefully at the very least you found an excuse to buy an upgrade but shame on Cooler master for not getting back to you :o

@SuperG - Dead image link but intrigued

Hi all, only just seen this thread.

How did you trying contacting us? I have asked around the office, and no one has received any correspondence regarding this subject. In regards to fitting the cooler, the stand offs do have protective covers on one side so as to avoid damage to the motherboard.

Please feel free to contact me via the trust link below!

Thanks! Really love this case. It's simple but clean enough. I added SP120s to the G10 loop. Put an AF140 up top as well. :)

To be honest I am not sure, I thought the stand off simply created a short after exposing some copper tracks. I would not have thought the CPU fan header attached to the pump as per instructions would have been capable of such.

I got mine today. I didn't take many pictures and I've yet to finish up the cable management. Got it up and running though and I'm quite happy. Sorry for the quality - pics are from my phone.

Thoughts on the case -- I kinda wish I'd gone for a case with tool-less HDD bays as I'm running three 3.5" and one SSD - aside from the mess of SATA cables, it's a nightmare trying to get anything plugged into the 3rd HDD and screwing it from underneath the case- wish I'd done that before anything else!

I also swapped the fan that comes with it to the front of the case, instead of the top. I'll eventually get some more fans in there though.

Next will be getting some better SATA cables (the angled ones are next to useless in this case), a modular PSU and perhaps a graphics card upgrade when I have some cash.

My spec:

ASUS P8Z68-V PRO
i5 2500k @ about 4ghz, with Hyper 212 evo
Palit 660ti
8GB G-Skill "Ripjaws X" RAM
Various HDDs & a Samsung 840 SSD

Here are some before shots of my old Chieftec case - no cable management because despite its huge size there was nowhere to put the cables!

Overall I like the case. It's a great size, looks really nice. It does feel quite cheap, more like a £40 case than a £60 one but does have some cool features. I may have got on better with the H440 but we'll see how this goes!

@lyxchoklad thats an impressive mod, I like the fact you have flipped the case and the chrome NZXT logo looks great!

The fan filters are deliberately quite thin to permit maximum airflow. You could add some foam (available from ebay relatively low cost, look for aquatics) which should solve the issue but will reduce the cooling ability slightly.

The problem is likely accentuated by the fact the case is fan down... Have you given the carpet below a good going over with a hoover?

I've a black and orange theme'd PC I made up for a made in this case, will try and get some pictures. Was a lovely case to build in, really is a slightly cheaper H440 (which I have!).

Pictures to come soon™
