Currently using a Lian Li A70F. Beautifully built all aluminium case. Sadly let down by lack of cable management and it's bare alu interior. Ive been looking at the nzxt switch 810 and the Bitfenix shinobi xl. The nzxt has some nice features, but a bit plasticky. The shinobi xl looks really nice, great features and very well laid out. Good price as well. The other option is to get my current case powdercoated inside, and mod the mobo tray for better cable arranging. Any thoughts or reccomendations guys?

Personally I get the shinobi due to watercooling options and cable management. Obviously, the watercooling but doesn't apply to you if you don't intend to WC

Yep, the shinobi does indeed look very nice. Though id be a bit concerned again with the use of plastic on external panels. With the LL being all aluminium, it has a real quality feel to it. However, modding it internally would probably cost a fair amount.

Nice video Kul1, thank you for the link. Is the top panel and front fascia plastic? And what is the soft touch finish? The amount of space behind the mobo tray is very impressive. Something thats very limited on my current case.

the softouch is a special high quality rubber coating which you usually only find at small devices such as computer mice... Like on our Shinobi we also offer this premium finish on the XL.

Actually for all of our cases we do use high quality plastic and not recycled one like others. The reason why some plastic chassis may feel "cheap" is that they safe cost and use a recycled form of plastic.

For BitFenix I ensure you it is always brand new plastic and on top of that in case of the XL you also get the SofTouch surface treatment.

Let me know if I can do anything else for you.

Thanks again. The soft touch does indeed sound like a nice finish. I also believe there will be an aftermarket side window panel available as well for the xl?

yes there will be a window side panel available... it will have the same shape like the one at the Colossus.

BTW - NP! :)

The window panel on the Colossus is very nicely done, especially with the Bitfenix logo. Will the one for the xl be with or without fan grills?

Completely agree with kul1's statements about the sofTouch material/finish, it is the best material I have seen/felt on a case (used a number of cases including the Antec P182).

It is very much like the material used for the top (where your palm rests) of the Razer DeathAdder, but MUCH smoother.

Yep, ive used a deathadder and the rubberised finish was very nice. +1 for a window panel without a fan grill. It would spoil what is a rather nice window design.
