Hi guys

Overclocking my new parts

Spec:

E6600 with Artic cooler
Asus P5B Deluxe
Cellshock 2gb PC6400

I am aiming for a 1:1 divder at either 400mhz and timings of 4.4.4.12 (maybe 3.3.3.8) or 500mhz FSB and timings of 5.5.5.15 (maybe 4.4.4.12)

Running at 300mhz atm and divder of 3:5 making the ram run at 1000mhz at timings of 5.5.5.18 to see if it was capable.

Temps on full load (CPU at 2.7GHZ) are 52/53C and 37/28C at idle.

Ram is at 2.25/2.3V
CPU is at 2.25

Am going to reset now and try and get into windows with timings at 4.4.4.12 and see what happens, will make sure ram voltage is set at 2.3v.

Any other details that need to posted please ask.

Doug.

P.S. Temps are recorded on TAT using that to generate full load as well

K, well she boots with timings at 4.4.4.12 @ 1000mhz but divder is on 3:5 so chip is till on 300mhz.

Any1 know any good RAM testers tht can be run in windows to check tht it is stable?

Doug.

Cheers for that, i have now got it downloaded and running!

I went and got the divder to 1:1 so now running 350MHZ fsb so ram is at 700MHZ at 5.5.5.18 timings, im now going to see how far my cpu will go on 2.25V.

all fun and games...:D

Doug

Now running at 405MHZ fsb with ram running at 810 with timings of 5.5.5.18 still.

Orthos wouldn't work for more than 3 secs without upping the cpu voltage which has now been done to 1.35v

Temps have increased now at 54C under Orthos load.

Orthos has now failed as I'm typing this so am going to up the cpu voltage once more to 1.4V, not going any higher today and will try to bring the ram timings down now as well.

What do you have the multiplier set to? If it is still on 9 that is quite an overclock! (9*405=3.645GHz) Drop it to 8 to get Orthos running stable. I'd run Orthos for 30 minutes - 1hr to be sure of stability.

Yeah the multi is on 8.

Just thought I had broken my CPU but turns out asus piece of crap software crancked the cpu voltage down to 1.2 which caused orthos to go crazy and get to 0 secs etc lol.

Seems to be working now, set vcore to 1.4 but runs at 1.35 in windows in cpuz and asus probe 2.

RAM is at 4.4.4.15 but should be able to lower that a bit more yet.

Temps are a little worrying at 56/57C under orthos load, idle is prob just above 40C.

Do you reckon I could get to 500MHZ fsb with timings of 4.4.4.12?

May need a better heat sink before then...

Doug.
