o2 box on talk talk ?

long story short my mate is on talk talk but bought his own router years ago,the routers gone pop and now he cant get online

i said to him i have a big pile of o2 boxes he could have one,how do i configure an o2 box to work on talk talk ?

i have a thompson o2 wireless II box,is it possible ?

From what i have seen this can't be done.

Given the boxes are just normal Reuters with custom firmware, I believe it is possible to re flash them, however I think they are locked to the ISP and unlocking is slightly more complex.
