I need some help!
I have recently moved house and have switched broadband provider.
Now I knew that O2 doesn't cover my area, however they could offer my Home- Something, which basically means that they use BT's equipment (I think) at the exchange.
They did initial tests before I commited to signing up and it was found that I can have up to a maximum of 6MB, which I though i can live with.
I was expecting say about 3mb of that, seing as I'm just about less than a mile form the exchange, but to my shock speedtest.net says I have
512 KBPS down
and
308 KBPS up
Now this is SHOCKING in anyone's books.
My connection is only "due" to be up on friday but has been up since yesterday. Now I know this is a silly question, but could it get better for any reason by Friday? (I dont know of any)
On my O2 wireless box I read the following:
O2_ADSL2plus
Connection Information
Link Status: Contacting DHCP server...
Why is the status "contacting" ?
Could this be the reason for my appalling speed?
