Morning all,

Anyone get the "The changes will affect your static IP address. It'll change to xyz after 20 days" email today?

I love the fact they send the static IP address to people, with no mention of subnet or gateway - this is going to cause a lot of headaches for their technical support team when people mindlessly copy and paste the IP's in and leave the SN/GW the same.

A headache already, it must be Sky broadband. If anyone finds out what SN and then GW format they are using, i would greatly appreciate the info - likewise if i can find it out from their forums ill post here.

Cheers,
Sam

I think Be there's has already been done..I changed mine last year I am sure

they cant be moving to sky network already surely? mind I only have 7 days left with them anyway!

Be did this months back, it will be nothing to do with Sky. If you have a static IP it will be allocated over IPCP, you don't need to manually set it any more. If you have a range of addresses that's different of course, but they supplied the mask

Ah IPCP, i hadnt thought of that. Problem is, I am using a Draytek Vigor 2830n, i wonder what problems that will have with IPCP, given how shoddy the firmware is.
