o2 Cocoon - MMS woes

Picked up my new o2 cocoon a few weeks back. nice phone, funky design and suites me fine.

Apart from the MMS sending/recieving...

Firstly the default settings on the phone do not work. i simply get a message saying sending as failed and it will re-try later. (was trying to send a photo, made it the 2nd smallest size and quality)

Using the options on the phone to request settings doesnt work, so i tried the o2 website. doesnt have settings for the cocoon, so i got the ones for the o2 ICE. saved those, still didnt work.

Lastly, my GF sent me an MMS, and alls i recieved was a plain text telling me to goto an o2 URL and put in my mobile number and a PIN to download the image.

I want to be able ot view the image in an MMS on my phone, not on the internet!!!

Any help with these issues folks?

hello mate, sounds like your account isn't setup to use MMS, give customer services a call on 08705 678678 (prepay) or 202 from your handset on postpay, they can get it setup for you, normally takes upto 24 hours, or pop into your local o2 store and they should be able to do it through retail helpdesk. Hope this helps.
 
Dont shoot the messenger ;) I have to deal with questions like this all day, I totally agree with you that it should be setup automatically, but if everything in life went smoothly and according to plan, it would get boring.
 
After MMS being activated on my account, and having to input the settings manually following instructions from an email, i still cannot send MMS messages.

The last o2 person i spoke to suggested that the SIM is faulty (I tried it in my old phone, got the WAP settings and couldn't get any further then that)

How can the SIM work fine for calls and SMS but not MMS???

Now i have to wait till the weekend to goto the o2 shop and get it sorted :mad:
