O2 Contract Conundrum

Im currently with O2 on a £35 per month tarriff and have recently purchased an iPhone. I thought my contract was up in August, and I was going to wait until then to change over to the Simplicity tarriff, but it turns out when I upgraded last summer, I was given an 18 month contract rather than my normal 12 month.

Anyhoo, I'd obviously like to utilise the iPhone's internet capabilities, so I was wondering what would be the best way of going about swapping and changing around my contract to get the Unlimited web bolt on.

The best plan I could come up with was to take out a new Simplicity contract with the free Web Bolt On, then keep knocking down my tarrif on my current contract untill it runs out. The only flaw I can see is whether or not O2 will change my current number over to the new Simplicity contract, could anyone shed any light on that?

Any help appreciated :)

Already got the iPhone :p Got it the day the price came down, it was the final insentive I needed!

I think Im on the Online 35 tarriff, which, if I was taking out now, I'd be entitled to the free Bolt On, but technically I took it out Aug 07 with my upgrade. Are you saying I could just jump to the same tarriff and reap the benifits of the free Bolt On, seems like a loop hole they would have covered

Just spoken to O2, apparently I was on the old Online 35, so I have been able to switch to the new Online 35 with the free Web Bolt On! The tariffs are exactly the same, win win for me!

Posting from iPhone :D

Thanks for the help guys.

wo wo wo. Slow down there matey. Go through this one more time for me.

I'm on the oline £35 tarriff right now that I took out in april 2007 on an 18 month contract.

Are you saying i can switch to their new online 35 contract and get the unlimited web access?

does that also mean o2 long weekends go away? (not that i use 2000minutes a month).
Yup, thats exactly what I've done. I think you do loose the long weekends, but like you I rarely used them and 600 mins is plenty for me. Good result! Doesn't affect contract length either.
