Dug out the O2 Wireless Router (Speedtouch 780) tonight as my Netgear's a bit ill at the moment, and it was a couple firmware revisions behind. Now some of you might know the only way to get updated firmware for these is for O2 to update them, and usually they do this automatically. I didn't feel like waiting, so decided to give their 24hr support a call, at 1am.

It's a freephone number, got answered after about 5 minutes in a queue before the phone was answered by someone in this country . Asked him about a firmware upgrade and he said it would be done in the next 5-10 minutes. 3 minutes later my router went offline and came back with the latest firmware.

Honestly I couldn't ask for more for £7.50 a month, I have no idea how they can offer it for that price, but I'm just enjoying it while it lasts.

i think 02 are smashing, was on vodafone for years and had no problems and wasn't bothered, went with 02 and they rang me twice to see how i was doing and see if there were any problems, no sales gimmick just check....magic.

Most ISPs start out ok, or even excellent. Then 'everyone' moves to them and it all goes pear-shaped.

Andrew McP... contemplating a move from <Tiscali>Pipex</Tiscali> to O2 :-)
