O2 Dropping out recently?

Installed about 7 months ago and been perfect for 6 months, but just in the last month or so it's been dropping out every now and then. Anyone else been having the same problems or is local to me?

Yeah, I presume losing sync. All computers remain connected to the router but the connection itself dies.

This is happening again and I think it might be down to the router (o2 wireless box II), it did a full reboot for no apparent reason and apparently it's quite a common issue:

An here's the event log for today, it was working last night at 00:10, then i've come home from work today to find the router is on, hasn't rebooted but the internet connection is dead:

Is all the ip lease renew/rebind the cause of the problem? As in it doesn't appear to have rebound the ip on the final attempt.

Getting dropouts now without any change in the router log, this must be at o2/bt's end then surely?

If you're using the O2 Wireless box you find the logs at:
http://o2wirelessbox.lan/cgi/b/events/?be=0&l0=0&l1=2

You need to log in as SuperUser, password is your router's serial number.

My connection is dropping out every few minutes here currently.

Yeah, that's the same issue I'm having (sometimes). I'm just reading that O2 apparently having routing issues and this may be part of it.

My connection just dropped again, so I ran a small ping test and confirmed it was (at least partially) a dns problem causing it. The ping also brought the connection back alive.

the dns servers listed in that fix are due to be decommissioned soon

I'll give it a try tomorrow, there's only one dns server listed on my router anyway which seems a bit daft.

I've now set my dns servers to:

94.192.119.254
94.192.119.253

following these guides:

and have now been online for 2hrs30 with no drops, which has been absolutely unheard of over the last week or so. Fingers crossed that is has fixed my issue and thanks to Azuse05 for points out the fix.

Now 5 hours with no drop. You dont have to use these particular servers, but these are O2 owned. There's also:

ADSL24 DNS Servers:

Plus, you can always just go back to your current O2 dns server.

Now just tipped 24 hours uptime with no drop, so it seems my problem is solved.
