O2 have got seriously expensive

Well just seemed to get an ok deal off them for a SE c905. Paying £50 for the phone but getting 1200mins, 1000 txts, and unlimited data for £27pm for the full 18mths.

Yeah they offered me a similar deal for the LG renoir, but the thing is there is no chance in me using 1200 mins and 1000 txts so i may try to get them lowered and not pay so much a month.

Yeh I'll never use that many, but for that phone I couldn't get it any cheaper on any other network over the 18 months than that. Also if I left o2 it'd cost me £5 more a month on my broadband so def the best deal I could have got. Just got to sit in and wait for the dam thing to arrive now!

Don't just go through to retentions. Actually threaten to quit and ask for the PAC code. Cancellations will more than likely call a couple of days later and offer you a much better deal than the retentions department will.

Pays to do your homework so you can give them comparisons on what else is out there.

this

cancellations actually agreed to half my line rental (was online 20 but at £10 a month instead of £20 / month) and give me £180 credit.

So all in all, i got 18 months @ £20 a month for free. They were that desperate to keep me. Granted id stopped using the phone so it wasnt going to cost them anything, but it just shows what deals cancellations can do if they want.

Orange texted me the other day saying other plans better suited my usage. I was on £25/month (24months) for 450mins, 600 texts and free evening and weekends. In the end I downgraded to £20/month for 600minutes and unlimited texts. Best bit though. was I am only 12months into a 24month contract. Daft bint on the phone thought I was on the end of the contract so now I only pay month by month and can leave whenever :D

Will o2 pricematch with themselves? I'm currently on PAYG on both o2 (from a contract that expired over 2 years ago) and t-mobile (contract expired 9 months ago) but both phones are unsuitable for my needs, worn out and huge. Seen a deal I love on mobiles but I want to keep either number. Ideally I want to just move my o2 back onto contract but the same deal on o2's website is about £180 worse off than getting it through mobiles over the 18 months.

o2 put me on a cheap contract at my last upgrade (put me under £15 from £30) which meant I was a poor customer to keep and offered me worse than new customer deals. Asked for my PAC and was given it, even now their new customer offers are much better than their renewal deals so I don't know what my chances are getting my PAYG back onto contract.

Yes they will, as Acidhell says LIE!
I always get what I want from o2 when it comes to my upgrade, I just read them some random advert from the paper with lets say "dial a phone" and change the details to suit me, saying "well if your doing this for new customers, why wont you do this for a loyal customer, been with you x amount of years blah blah blah.

Just managed to get my LG on £25 per month with 400(which i barely use the 600 i have now) mins and unlimited texts and the phone was free.

Orange reception is okay round here i was tempted to go to o2 untill my mate told me how much hassle he had with them =(
