O2 in the dom rep

How likely is it that a Nokia 6230 will get reception in the Dominican Republic? Do you have to have a special phone or anything to get reception out there?

O2 may be ok but orange reception was very hit and miss, when i visited about 3 years ago. Very nice place tbh, just dont use the tap water!
