My contract is up for renewal with o2 in sept and i usually get a new phone from them, but my current phone a K750i has gone faulty, the joystick is playing up and the speaker has gone all crackly so i find it hard to hear what ppl are saying.

I have the Gold insurance on my account, if i claim on my insurance and get a replacment would i still qualify for a new phone in sept.

I was planning on giving my current K750i to the wife who has a 4 year old nokia with a PAYG sim where the credit does not have to be renewed every month.

Thanx in advance

If the handset is faulty you dont need to make an insurance claim, it will still be covered under the warranty. Either way if you make a claim under the insurance or warranty it doesn't effect your upgrade date

Do it by warranty, you won't have to pay the £25 excess that way. Plus O2 insurance would probably not accept the claim as it's faulty, not damaged. Pop in to your nearest o2 store and get them to send it off to the manufacturer for you.

Thanx for the relpies

Phoned 02 and asked for a replacment under warrenty as suggested and got a replacment phone next morning :)

The guy i spoke to told me to ring back in a couple of weeks for a handset upgrade aswell

Cannot fault 02 on the service
