O2 iPhone 6 problem

So my girlfriend's iPhone lost all signal this morning, and still has nothing. We live and work in central London and there are no known mast outages or anything like that and a coworker also on O2 with an ip6 had theirs working fine. In fact they tried putting the guy's SIM in the phone, which didn't work either. Which would suggest it is an issue with the phone's hardware.

She's tried a replacement SIM and got the number ported but no luck after a few hours.

Under settings, general, about, network it says 'not available', then when you press on it it says 'phone not allowed'. Which strikes me as a bit odd, and makes me think that it is the sim/network and not the phone. She's spoken to O2 on the phone who haven't mentioned any issues, and her myO2 is all looking fine.

She said it got a software update last night, but was definitely still working early this morning. The software version is 8.4 (12H143) and modem firmware is 2.41.00.

Does anyone have any ideas at all?

Thanks

Where did she get the phone from? If it was second hand there's a chance it could be blacklisted.

Outside of that, if you've tried everything including a reset then I'd get Apple to replace it.

Was bought from car phone warehouse on contract about 4 months ago. Have done a reset of network settings, but not a full wipe. Will try that tomorrow if it doesn't come to life overnight, and if that doesn't work we'll send it off.

Thanks for replies, any other suggestions welcome

Indeed, I had issues with my old 4 & 4s walked in and confirmed faulty and walked out with a working phone :)
