Hi all I have recently cancelled my internet connection with Virgin, I am having a BT phone line activated on the 12th of this month and the ISP provider that I have been hearing good things about is O2 there package is £9.79 per month because we are already an O2 customer and also if you order before the end of the month you get 3 free months so we are looking to take out there premium package which is upto 20mb download, we live 1.3 miles from the closest exchange according to SamKnows so my question is what download speed will I realisticly be getting and also is there a better ISP provider out there at the moment ?

Whatever speed you get when you start O2 is basically the best speed your phone lnie can handle, O2 are probably the best ADSL ISP around at the moment along with Be, but Be are also owned by O2 so it doesnt really matter which one you go with (I am with O2 as they are cheaper) but the samknows estimate is only a straight line estimate as the actual length of the cable from your house to the exchange will be much longer. I am on a 45db line and I get 6.5meg on O2.
