Just got an email from O2 today. Usually we pay £12.77 (£12.50 before the VAT rise) but the email we recieved today shows they're raising it to £14.50. Are they trying to tempt us to the newer packages ?

I thought i read somewhere that they were putting every customer on their new packages. Whether that means your bill goes up or down.

They aren't putting everyone on the new packages. But yes the price increase, among other things, is probably a way to try and get people to downgrade to the new packages.

Mine has gone up from £7.50 to £9.50 with discount.

O2 bb is the same as O2 mobile. Poorly managed subscriptions thanks to the discount overcrowded the mobile introducing caps long before other networks but the knock on effect is the bb is oversubscribed.

BE might not be managed but since O2 started their shaping there's been a number of niggles :(

I had email from O2 saying my Broadband is changing to £13/month, and my home phone to £13.25/month (including line rental), was paying £10.21 & £12.77 respectively, a total rise of £3.27/month.

I get 17Meg unlimited broadband (still on old package), and unlimited calls to UK numbers, so not a bad price still... but if they did try to move me onto the new broadband packages I would consider changing.

I'm tempted to go with BT Infinity when it is rolled out in my area. My O2 Broadband is going up from £17.50 to £21.50

My phone, landlines and bb is with 02,
I've not had any notification, unless I have an 02 email address, and I've been notified via that... can't say I've ever checked as I just use webmail.

Although I am happy with my Current deal, i would obviously re assess my position.
Surely i would need to be notified in writing for a contractual change?

I currently have a desire on unlimited data for 35 a month,
16meg unlimited bb for 9 pounds something. (Oldskool llu deal with mobile discount)
And basic landline for 9 pounds something.

If they put my bills up I would need to have a serious think.

I don't think I have an 02 email address, i get an sms to my phone when they are taking payments, should I be worried?

I had a letter in the post informing me of the price rises. My home phone contract expires in June and infinity arrives in July so I'm not bothered.

I just got the email today , its gone up to £9:50 so i spose its not that bad for 7 an half meg

I find it funny how people are moaning about a few £ give me a break o2 for the older customers is true unlimited they couldn't keep this model going for ever at the low price it was.

Azuse05 o2 has done the same as everyone else on there bb and mobile network also o2 still offer unlimited bb for older customers who else offers that cheaper then o2 no one, regarding BE the service is the same if your having problems it's more likely to be your area or line.

Got my letter this morning, landline is now ten pounds pm, which is fine, but my broadband is going up from 9.something to 13 :(

My broadband is the old 16meg, unlimited llu, and my speeds are generally between 14-16meg. Not sure if it's worth switching to be honest.. may go back to be*, ill have to see what packages they offer, although I know my line is only good for about 16meg tops.

Hmm just checked be* and it's not worth switching, thier cheapest 12meg deal is 14quid..?

Is there any other isp worth considering? I don't use tv, so not interested in a satellite or cable package...

Thing is, it's a great excuse to get out of a contract early and get a new deal with lots of cashback (Virgin Media, BT, Plusnet)... so I might do that- My BB is paid by work anyway ;)

Just used sky onlone help, the offered me £11.25 for 3 months and £21.something thereafter, for phone and unlimited LLU, but im pretty sure they traffic manage, is this correct?

I called 02 back to see if they would price match as my Landline and broadband is now a straight £23 per month with 02, and they basicly said no, the package im on is unlimited and unmanaged, thay said that they could only beat sky if i went onto a traffic managed BB plan. looks like im staying with 02 for now, as i dont fancy being throttled etc.

I did mention to the 02 rep that the price hike was a breach of contract, and she said, yes fine, there is no penalty for cancelling. this may be a case of better the devil i know, as i cant fault the service.
At the end of my contract then if they force me onto traffic mangement, then I will reconsider.
