Ok so I just called o2 to see what deal they could do on a new contract. They told me I couldn't keep my £10 discount (from £30 to £20) as they "didn't do that anymore!" ... ok I say, I can't afford to pay anymore than £20 so I will need to cancel, they backtrack and put me onto someone who "may" be able to do a deal. The second person pointed out that I only use about 25% of my allocated minutes per month.. which I am aware of, I like to have a buffer where I know I won't go over my limit so I don't get any extra charges.

You would think they would see me as a good customer and offer a decent deal? No lol. They still want to charge me more than what I currently pay or to go on a simplicity / pay and go sim. I requested to cancel the contract which ends in just under a month. PAC code en route then!

I have decided to go with Tesco Pay n Go. They are doing a deal where you pay £15 and get £45 worth of credit, which rolls over. This is ideal for me as some months I hardly use my phone at all (one of the reasons I refuse to go on a simplicity sim).

/rant over :p

I need a phone to replace my current wrecked viewty. I never use video and hardly ever use picture features. I basically use my phone for calling and texting (I would have used email and web if I had got a blackberry but I can do without!).

Does anyone have any ideas on a really cheap phone that is well built and has a good battery life?

Hope I didn't bore you all :D

Maybe I phoned them on a day when they had hit all their targets..? Although maybe it's because they can't budge as much on the blackberry deals

yep i am inside the last month of my contract. i am usually pretty good at getting a deal for mobile and broadband packages but this time it just didnt happen! i got my pac code via sms the other day so they must mean business

latest offer is the £35 a month tarrif for £30 and the BB curve for free...

at least they ain't taking the biscuit now! ill phone up in a few days and see if they will better it again. it seems the more times you phone the cheaper it gets
