Hi

About to send off my iPhone 3G to o2 recycle. I've secured wiped it, but do I need to activate it ?(and then remove my sim.

I also believe I send back the USB cable with it? Does the power brick need sent as well?

Yes, I sent both items.

I connected my iPhone to iTunes, did the 'set up as new device', waited until it activated and then just unplugged it and powered it off. Make sure you send it back fully charged, they will reduce the payment for phones that aren't charged as that happened to someone here at work.

I went in store to trade it in with the box and all the accessories, the guy told me all they need is the phone. Make sure you erase your data, remove the sim and fully charge the phone so they can test it!

just the cable not the plug, i emailed and asked

use the code '10more' without the quotes for 10% bonus on 02 recycle

bung it in an envelope... await bacon...erm cash.

Can you do this in store?

Do they examine the ridiculously stupid colour changing things in the ports and knock money off if you have actually answered your phone in the rain?

Received a txt and an email today to say that I'll be receiving the quoted £247 as a cheque this week.

I was a little worried as literally two days before I sent the phone to O2 I dropped it onto a black metal speaker stand. It caused some discolouration and chipped the plastic in a couple of small areas, but this obviously wasn't an issue!

I sent the phone back with just the USB cable btw.
