DSL Type: G.992.5 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,269 / 4,352
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 16.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 19.5 / 37.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.5 / 7.5
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / BDCM
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 33 / 5,148
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 33 / 40
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 9,437 / 32

Is that amount of HEC cause for concern? I've fired off a mail to o2 about it, so we'll see what they have to say.

Ran those stats through http://be.nfshost.com/go.php, and it said :

Downstream sync speed of 4352 kbit is 5550 kbit slower or 44 percent of the average for connections with the same downstream attenuation of 37dB.
High frequency of HEC Up errors (8.03/sec).
Output power down (16.5dBm) is very low. Most common values are 17 to 19.5dBm.
Resubmit statistics in at least 4.67 hours. Ideally more time is needed to say whether any errors were just one-off occurrences.
There are some FEC Up errors. FEC errors are *corrected* errors, so these are probably nothing to worry about. Speedtouch routers have a habit of misreporting FEC errors anyway.

So shouldn't I be getting nearer 8mb ? ( on the 8mb package from o2).

Checked the usual things like filters, etc, but as I'm in an apartment and there doesn't seem to be a BT master socket for me to try ;/

Any ideas?

If you check the o2 forums, there is a 22 page thread (as of last night) about horrendous peak-time speeds. Almost everyone is getting this, apparently it's due to a massive influx of new customers hammering the crap out of their new-found unlimited connections.
