O2 speed increase

Has anyone with the right phone in the right area seen any improvements?

Not that i have noticed to be honest, all my mobile devices are on the O2 Network, Blackberry, Mobile 3G Dongle and a HTC DHD, i see no increase in speed at all yet, or none that i have noticed.

Traveling at the moment on a train from London and the 3G Dongle is registering 7.2mbps on HSDPA but speed tests are only seeing 0.48 down and 0.92 up.

Kind of offtopic
I think o2 are fibbing to me. Just cancelled my contract and they aid that they are spending 1million a day on upgrading the network, especially 3g service. However if they are spending that much, maybe o2 will finally get a decent 3g service in 6-12months.

Last time I checked I got 1000kbps up and 480 down.
Just tested now and got 1658 up and 765 down.

Quite an improvement.

The O2 network here seems dire. I'm getting 0.3Mb down and 0.27 up and that is connected via HSDPA

O2 has the worst 3G coverage of all the main players. 86% as detailed in OFCOMs damming report of the provider.

I think in response O2 were going to install 1500 new transmitters.

Nice marketing stunt. Their coverage and throughput have gone from completely awful to bloody awful. :p

Guess that depends on your point of view, dad switched to O2 cause it was the only signal he could get out in the peak district where he works and i'm not exactly complaining with over double the UK average mobile download speed :D

They likely are, network upkeep is serious cash, £1M a day is small fry to what I suspect the joint t-mob/3/orange network costs tbh. It will cost a lot more than £1M a day to roll out LTE that's for sure.

I work near Chancery Lane and for the first time ever I have full signal in my office. Before I used to get one bar, sometimes two.

I got pretty good before at 3ish down and 1ish up, just run speedtest and getting 1.6 up but -0 down, so not sure if the down has increased, on a N1
