O2 Standard to Premium, will I see an increase in speed?

Just wondering, my line is pretty poor, I sync between 3300-4000 on my line on the standard package. O2 estimates the max sync is 5mb.

So if I changed from standard to premium (up to 8mb to up to 24mb) will I see much of a difference.

For £2.50 more a month, I'd take even a little increase, I'm a sucker for speed.

my Line Attenuation is 56.5dbs
SNR usually stable around 10.

sandman06 is correct but even with your current speed you could get nearer to 6mb assuming your on ADSL2+(LLU)

Uptime: 4 days, 21:59:57
DSL Type: G.992.5 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,113 / 5,636
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 19.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 33.0 / 57.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.0 / 4.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / BDCM
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 30 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 3,814 / 23,856,820
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 3,814 / 3,707
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 78,296 / 2,663

Attenuation is no measure of how capable your line is; just a function of how long it is and of what material it is made.

True but it gives an indication that there might be a problem somewhere if the distance and speed don't tally. Getting it looked at is a different matter, Luckily for me I had a fault back when I had 56k and had a great engineer who replace and changed a load of connections all the way back to the exchange.

Even then when I had broadband I had very poor speeds for about 3 years until I re-wired my sockets and removed the bell wire. If I'd known that 57db could have delivered 4-5.5mb I could have done it before.
It didn't help with BT telling me that my line was only capable of 1.5mb either.

I'll give it a whirl. It's a new 12month contract but O2 llu has been pretty fantastic since I switched to it 6months ago.

If it's no faster I can always switch back. How long does it usually take or is it pretty much instant?
