O2 to Virgin 50MB

Hi,

At the mo I can barely get 6Mbs on O2 and my contract is coming to an end this month.

Am thinking of dumping my BT line and O2 Broadband and switching to Virgin 50MB and the £11 a month phone line.

I realise the price would in fact go up in terms of broadband costs but in most cases is 50MB really 50MB is do you end up with like 40/30/20MBs?

Would YouTube, iPlayer etc be faster?

Is Virgin traffic managment really enforced and restrictive as these Watchdog shows make out?

When I rang them up tonight they said the 50MB package currently has NO P2P shaping or traffic management as of yet.

at least twice as fast. you should be able to watch a 30 minute program in just 15 minutes.

(2mb should be fine for simple streaming such as that)

It's 50Mbps, rather than 400Mbps (i.e. 50MB/s).
