o2 upgrade reward

hey,

i just got a new o2 pay and go sim card and according to o2 im eligible for 5 quid free credit! now at the bottom it says

In order to keep your number and address book entries* simply move the SIM from your old mobile to your new mobile. The new SIM will be disconnected from the time of the upgrade.

does this mean my new sim card will stop working? i want to keep my new sim card and get rid of the old one :confused:
