O2 Upgrading

Just wondered if anyone knows the deal around iPhone/Plam Pre upgrades...?

My iPhone 3G contract comes up in December but I noticed that O2 have stopped doing some of the bolt-ons - namely the unlimited texts one!

I am looking at possibly upgrading to the Palm Pre but I am concerned that O2 will not allow me to keep my unlimited bolt on's or upgrade to a Palm Pre for some months after my renewal date (because the Palm Pre is new)....?

I do not think a 1000 texts (with the extra 500 texts bolt on) will cut it!

I have tried to ring O2 to get the answers but I keep getting the "you will have to wait till the Plam Pre is released..." Surely these decisions have been made already!?

The point of release dates are merely a cause of logistics.

It's not unsual to know RRP/Price Plans before the day the product actually ships out or appears in stores - in fact with most products its good business sense to allow for forcasts...

Thanks for the info guys - I think I will hold out till the 16th and see what I can get....I normally do buy phones online (although look at them in a shop first) but only because the shops deals always seem to be a more naff in comparison.
