I have just ordered the above as a free upgrade from o2 and was wondering if it was any good? I've never had a pda-phone before and this seemed like a good idea.

I have 14 days to change my mind so if there are any similar phones around please let me know.

Thanks

They are brilliant as a pda only unit, they absolutely suck hard for being used as a phone unless you like walking around with a bluetooth headset glued to your ear. That goes for all the XDA range imho, great pdas but crap at being phones.
Id return it and wait for the SE P990 which is a phone/pda type jobbie and it does it very very well. In fact you could get yourself a nice P910 which precedes the p990. P990 has built in wifi whereas the p910 doesnt.

Not my experience , had it for a month & still love it. The only thing I don't like is using the touch screen for dialling , but I always dial using my contacts book anyway :)

//edit//

The O2 guff on it sloooows it down , if you keep the phone you can junk it by doing a hard reset .

settings system clear sotrage will do a hard rest for ya.

but i do agree that its not the best at being a phone there are certain things that are buggin me ive only had it just over a week.

when you get a message the tone rings for the full lenght of the tone. when you press a button the tone still rings?>?? (any fix for this?)

making a call isnt the easies thing on the move with the small buttons, get a new caller skin if you can makes the buttons bigger and easier to use.

and there is NO one handed control of this. its bascally a PDA with some phone features not the other way arround.

other than the above i love this phone. the supplied headphone are actually quite good. nice and loud. drown out the noise of a train :) the material (plastic stuff) is strange tho

I got mine today :D

Looks a fantastic bit of kit, still getting used to it and changing settings etc. Ive allready had a go with Skype on it, the main reason I wanted this type of phone, and it works quite well, this was over the usb cable, hopefully going to get a wifi pci card soon to fully make use of it.

Im not that bothered about the size, its not that big really. Keyboard takes a bit of getting used to but i'll get the hang of it.

Been after one of these HTC phones for over a year but finally got one.

Am I right that 2gb mini SD cards are around £50, or am i not looking hard enough?

Also, any good sites for software and stuff (legal and free ;) )

How is the phone going Toy? Been thinking about getting an upgrade to the Mini. Had an XDA IIi for 6 months and i really like it. Not experienced any of the ringing problems mentioned below, but it does have its bugs (its a M$ OS after all :p).

Really liked my IIi. Sometimes i think its a bit big. Look a bit of a plonker down the pub sometimes, but once you get used to that its all good.

Make sure you get screen peels and a mains charger. Addonsworld is a good place to look.
