I've just ordered a reconditioned 6230i on an o2 contract, 10 months of 99p line rental via cashback...

Now my quibble is, when I come to cancel next January, will I have an easy experience in doing so? As i've read in the past that o2's customer service is poor...

they shouldnt be to bad, just ring and say i want to cancel, and send em written confirmation as well. Where did u get the deal from?
 
I know when I cancelled my O2 contract I had no problems doing so.
Either phone them or you can send it in writing, either's fine but I don't see why you'd have a problem personally.
 
i transferred the number to a random pay as you go sim when i wanted to stop the contract - that seemed to help!
 
I've never had any trouble with O2 customer service, in fact they've been very good in my experience. The only 'difficult' part can be when your contract comes for renewal and you aim to cancel, because they offer you better deals. But that can't be seen as a negative aspect of their service really!
