Nearly a year ago I bought a contract from o2 just for the phone. I have never used the sim card they sent me (I kept it safe). I have never made a call from my account.

A few weeks back I lost the sim card when I moved house. Now I rang o2 online and they found my account (by postcode and surname) and I was told that they had changed my address and they had stopped the sim card and I would be sent another one.

Today I received my bill through via email - my line rental is £19.99 and that is all it should be. The bill is £40.77!!!

I have tried to call o2 online but I have been passed from department to department. I am really not getting anywhere. I have asked for a manager and they have listened to what I have had to say (I havn't screamed at them just calmly explained my situation) and they have told me "We cant deal with this we will need to pass you to another team).

Well a quick update - I was put through to another guy, however this person was extremely helpful. I told him my new address and he brought up my details straight away. He said they had changed my address but for some reason the SIM card was sent to my previous address (the house I sold).

He has looked into it and it seems the person now living in my old house has opened up my mail and is using my SIM card!!! :(

He has barred the SIM and he is sending out a new one to my new address. They are crediting the extra cost of the bill for this month (I have to pay it this month as its currently going through) but a credit will be on for next month. He is also putting through a fraud investigation.........

Glad you got it sorted out mate - O2 arent a bad bunch really :)

I beg to differ after no less then 4 cancelled upgrades for the k800i. Been with them for 9 years and a decnt spender. eventually got the phone yesterday.

O2 online are cheap and thats about all you can say good abou them IMO

All ill say is good luck getting your "credit". Ive had several managers do a credit "there and then.... there we go just done it on the system" and nothing ever came through. Ive taken names and stuff and when you phone back its all "sorry never heard of that name and there is nothing about this on your account".

In the end i just gave up as it was only about a fiver for some game i dloaded from o2 themselves... it didnt work and they were supposed to be refunding me. However it must be noted that it took me several calls to even get them to admit that i had bought the game off them!!! from the actual o2 website! i had to give the address to a manager and listen as he typed it in on his computer and went "hmmmm how odd".
