Our office is using O2 as our ISP and we want to deploy a server in our offices to handle mail and web services. The server we are deploying is a Mac Pro with snow leopard server installed and this server will be running DNS, Mail and web etc...
Now this is a first for me when it comes to deploying a server, i just need some guidance to what i need to do in order to make sure everything works. DNS seems to be the most important thing as services all depend on a fully working DNS.
How i see it so far...
1.Static address provided by ISP
2.Router that forwards required ports
3.Contact ISP (i must have to inform them of something or them change something their end?)
4.Have a domain name (i do already from 123 reg) and provide A record for server, mx record and www. type record
5. install server and configure DNS to be fully qualified and test with nslookup
6. configure services
I just need some step by step things to what i need to do in order to get a fully working DNS
