What's wrong with replicas?

I don't have any myself. Couldn't convince my Dad to buy me some when we went to Cyprus (real ones).

When I was in Ibiza in 2002, i didn't have any Darker glasses with me and bought a Replica Oakley pair (Similar to the Minute 2.0's) sadly the heat made them melt

I have black polarised Oakley RX whisker sunglasses. I got them from framesdirect.com amazing service.

They cost £305 from rubbens mensware or $340 dollars from framesdirect!.

Massive saving.

What's wrong with replicas?

At the distinct risk of flogging a dead horse, replicas generally won't have undergone the strict quality control that Oakleys do and wearing a cheap pair of sunglasses can be worse than wearing none at all. A good pair of sunglasses will filter out UVA rays, a cheap pair might not filter out most of them but because of the darkness they create your eyes will open wider and leave them more susceptible to damage.

I've gone off oakley's now really, the designs are getting old and it suggests your just following the crowd. Really bizarrely I've just been over to Optix at Broadgate in search of a new pair for this year, can't decide though...I'm tempted by a pair of these...

They won’t be anywhere as good, try a real pair then a fake pair then you will understand. A lot of people (myself included) don’t just wear them for the name.

I agree ,I use them for cycling (they stay on ),motorbike (they will protect your eyes from stone chips),sailing ,power boating ,good eye protection and they are very difficult to break (I use to get through 2or 3 pairs of cheap sunglasses every sumer ) have 2 pairs both black as think the colour ones look to much !
